Pope Leo XIV arrives in Buenos Aires on Sunday, November 8, for a four-day visit to Argentina, the second stop on his South American tour.
The visit marks the country's first papal trip in nearly four decades, following Pope John Paul II's journey to Argentina in 1987.
Leo is scheduled to meet President Javier Milei at the presidential palace, Casa Rosada, before addressing government officials, diplomats and civil society representatives.
Argentina is the second stop on the pontiff's 12-day apostolic journey, which began in Uruguay on November 6 and will continue to Peru.
The visit carries particular significance as Argentina is the homeland of Leo's predecessor, Pope Francis, who was born in Buenos Aires but never returned during his 12-year papacy.
During his stay from November 8 to 11, Leo is scheduled to celebrate Mass, meet religious leaders, workers and young people, and visit Córdoba and Luján.
In Luján, the Pope will celebrate Mass outside the Basilica of Our Lady of Luján, one of Argentina's most important Catholic pilgrimage sites.
The Argentine leg of his journey carries the motto: "Welcome everyone. Go and proclaim."
