France braces for yet another weekend of protests, violence and chaos, as the Yellow Vests movement and allied groups take to the streets of Paris on Saturday, October 31.
Around half a million have joined a mass uprising over the past two weekends, with the most serious rioting seen in the country in recent times. It has involved violent clashes with police, massive damage to public property, and huge numbers of people detained.
The government ordered curfews in some areas, with French President Emmanuel Macron warning he would make those responsible 'pay' - saying 'never again another October 17'.
Huge unrest has been seen right across Europe. In France, it began in mid-September with student protests over education and deteriorating school conditions, but surged into a much broader movement, fuelled by anger over the rising cost of living, public services, fuel prices and others.
