Live from Paris on Saturday, October 24, as demonstrators return to the streets after chaos, riots, looting and curfews across France - and right across Europe too.

Anger has been fuelled by ongoing education protests - including staff shortages and crumbling buildings - as well as the skyrocking cost of living and surging fuel prices.

Authorities have approved a route organised by the CGT trade union between Place de la Bastille and Place de la Nation - but Paris cops also banned one proposed by the Yellow Vests movement, from Bastille to Place de l’Opéra via Place de la République.

Last weekend saw some of the most serious rioting across France in recent years, with the French government introducing curfews in some areas on Monday, continuing during the week. French President Emmanuel Macron warned he would make those responsible 'pay'.
