Students and their supporters take to the streets of Paris on Tuesday, October 13, as protests over France's struggling education system continue to sweep the country.
The unrest began on September 17 at Saint-Exupery High School in Creteil, southeast of Paris, where students joined striking teachers and blockaded the school over staff shortages, overcrowded classrooms and crumbling facilities.
The protests quickly spread nationwide, forcing widespread school closures and sparking violent clashes with riot police, with thousands arrested.
The Macron government has blamed 'outside troublemakers' for fuelling the unrest, while opposition parties have accused it of failing to address the crisis.
