US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping attend the state dinner at the White House in Washington DC, on Thursday, September 24.

Trump and First Lady Melania are hosting Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan during the three-day state visit, and the two presidents will deliver remarks as well.

Trade, global conflicts, technology and AI, critical minerals and other key areas of US-China relations are set to feature prominently. It follows Trump's visit to China in May.

Xi's state visit comes as the two countries seek to manage tensions and follows Trump's visit to China in May.
