Brazil marks its 204th Independence Day in Brasilia on Monday, September 7, commemorating the end of more than three centuries of Portuguese colonial rule and the country's declaration of independence in 1822.
The main celebrations take place along the Esplanade of Ministries, with a traditional civic-military parade involving the Brazilian Armed Forces and other participating organisations.
The programme is set to include military formations, equipment displays and an aerial parade, including a demonstration by the Brazilian Air Force.
