'Goresh', a traditional type of Turkmen wrestling, takes place at the VI World Nomad Games in Cholpon Ata on Tuesday, September 1.

Goresh is one of the oldest sports closely related to the cultural and historical heritage of the Turkmen people. Its roots go back centuries, and fights have traditionally been the central event of national holidays.

Among the participating countries are India, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and others.

The World Nomad Games is an international platform that brings together different cultures, traditions, values and sporting disciplines. They were first held in 2014.

The iconic, international cultural and sports event dedicated to nomadic peoples is held from August 31 to September 6.
