'Pahlavani' wrestling takes place at the VI World Nomad Games in Cholpon Ata on Saturday, September 5.

Pahlavani is the general name for traditional wrestling in ancient Persia and modern-day Iran. It is one of the most revered sports in Iran and has a history that dates back many centuries. Wrestling forms an integral part of the traditional Persian martial arts system.

Among the participating countries are Ghana, India, Cameroon, Mongolia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, and others.

The World Nomad Games is an international platform that brings together different cultures, traditions, values and sporting disciplines. They were first held in 2014.

The iconic, international cultural and sports event dedicated to nomadic peoples is held from August 31 to September 6.
