'Hapsagai', a traditional type of Yakut wrestling, takes place at the VI World Nomad Games in Cholpon Ata on Friday, September 4.

Hapsagai is a traditional Yakut martial art and a form of national wrestling in which two competitors attempt to throw each other to the ground while avoiding contact with the surface by their knees or any other part of the body.

This wrestling style is known for its fast pace and dynamic nature, requiring athletes to demonstrate exceptional speed, strength, agility, and balance.

Hapsagai has deep cultural roots and symbolizes courage, skill, and mastery. Today, it remains one of the most popular traditional wrestling disciplines of the Sakha (Yakut) people.

Among the participating countries are Pakistan, Mongolia, India, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and others.

The World Nomad Games is an international platform that brings together different cultures, traditions, values and sporting disciplines. They were first held in 2014.

The iconic, international cultural and sports event dedicated to nomadic peoples is held from August 31 to September 6.
