Live outside Sikka hospital on Monday, August 17, following a powerful magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck off Indonesia's Flores Island on Saturday, killing dozens and injuring more than 100.

Thousands of residents have been forced from their homes, with many of the injured being treated at hospitals and temporary medical facilities. More than 1,300 homes have been damaged, while landslides, blocked roads and power outages have hampered access to some of the worst-hit communities.

East Nusa Tenggara authorities have declared a 14-day emergency response period as rescue teams continue searching damaged and isolated areas.
