Trade unions and social movements across Argentina protest in Buenos Aires on Thursday, August 6, against the government's proposed land ownership bill.

It comes as the Senate prepares to resume its debate on the legislation.

Unions claim easing of restrictions - such as on foreign ownership of rural land - will weaken national sovereignty and reduce protections on land and natural resources. The government says changes are needed to attract huge overseas investment and save the economy.

It follows months of co-ordinated action of wages, pensions, jobs, debt and cuts.
