The United Nations Security Council holds its quarterly open debate in New York on Tuesday, July 28, to discuss the situation in the Middle East, focusing on Palestine and Gaza.
Council members are expected to discuss humanitarian and political issues in Gaza, nine months after the Security Council adopted resolution 2803 endorsing the US-brokered Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict and establishing the international Board of Peace (BoP), chaired by US President Donald Trump.
They will also discuss settler violence in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and accusations from the Palestinian Authority that Israel is withholding around $11 billion in Palestinian funds.
