Keiko Fujimori is sworn in as president of Peru on Tuesday July 28 during the inauguration ceremony in Lima.

It marks the official start of her five-year term as the nation's head of state, following her victory in the recent presidential election.

She beat Together for Peru's Roberto Sanchez in the runoff in June - a race beset by claims of fraud - with a margin of less than 50,000 votes. It was her fourth attempt to win the presidency.

Fujimori, the daughter of former President Alberto Fujimori, is set to take the constitutional oath of office and deliver her inaugural address to the nation at the Congress of the Republic.

Fujimori's Popular Force party and allies also secured the presidency of Peru's newly reinstated Senate on Sunday; a key legislative leadership position.
