Foreign delegations arrive in Tehran on Friday, July 3 ahead of the multi-day farewell ceremonies for late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Khamenei led the Islamic Republic for over three decades after assuming the role of Supreme Leader in 1989. During his tenure, Iran navigated regional conflicts, growing geopolitical tensions, and extensive international sanctions.
He was killed at his compound in Tehran during the opening wave of airstrikes by Israel and the United States, triggering the latest Iran war.
