Thousands of mourners gather at Tehran's Grand Mosalla on Sunday, July 5, for the second day of a public farewell ceremony honouring Iran's late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The ceremony, which began on July 4, is part of three days of national mourning. It will conclude with a funeral procession on July 6 in Tehran.
Khamenei led the Islamic Republic for more than three decades. He became Supreme Leader in 1989, succeeding Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, and oversaw a period marked by regional tensions and international sanctions.
