The two said they had instructed the Israeli military to strike what they described as Hezbollah targets in Beirut’s Dahiya district, in response to fire launched toward Israeli territory.

The escalation marks a renewed phase of hostilities centered on southern Beirut, with military activity reported shortly after the announcement.

Meanwhile, US authorities say the United States and Iran are close to reaching a final agreement. Officials also indicated that the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened without charges under the terms being discussed.
