Live from Lebanese capital on Sunday, June 14, as strikes in southern Beirut have resumed following a joint statement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Israel Katz. The two said they had instructed the Israeli military to strike what they described as Hezbollah targets in Beirut’s Dahiya district, in response to fire launched toward Israeli territory.
The escalation marks a renewed phase of hostilities centered on southern Beirut, with military activity reported shortly after the announcement.
Meanwhile, US authorities say the United States and Iran are close to reaching a final agreement. Officials also indicated that the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened without charges under the terms being discussed.
