Thousands of Muslim pilgrims gather in Mina near Mecca on Friday, May 29, to perform the final symbolic 'stoning of the Devil' ritual, on the second day of Tashriq and the third day of Eid al-Adha.
Pilgrims throw seven pebbles at each of the three stone pillars, known as the Jamarat, in a deeply symbolic act of rejecting temptation and seeking spiritual renewal.
The ritual, which takes place on the 12th of Dhul Hijjah, marks the final major obligation for many Hajj pilgrims. Following the completion of the stoning, thousands of worshippers begin departing Mina for the Grand Mosque in Mecca to perform the Tawaf al-Wadaa, or the Farewell Circumambulation, officially concluding their spiritual journey of Hajj.
