Live from Tehran as US and Iran agree two-week ceasefire

Live from Tehran on Wednesday, April 8, after the United States and Iran agree to a two-week ceasefire.

The deal comes after more than a month of US and Israeli attacks on Iran and retaliatory strikes from Tehran.

Following the announcement, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said that Iran's Armed Forces will 'cease defensive operations' if attacks against the state are halted. He added that Iran will allow 'safe passage' through the Strait of Hormuz for a period of two-weeks 'via coordination with Iran's Armed Forces'.

Both sides are claiming victory after the temporary truce and are set to resume talks on ending the war in Islamabad on Friday.
