Live from Beirut’s southern suburbs amid Israel-Hezbollah escalation

Live from Baabda overseeing Beirut’s southern suburbs on Thursday, March 11, as the IDF announced "a large-scale wave of strikes on Hezbollah infrastructure".

Hezbollah for its part has launched a new operation targeting Israel on the day before.

This escalation comes after the militant group announced its intervention in the Iran conflict 'in revenge' for the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, carrying out multiple operations while Israel responded by targeting several southern villages and conducting airstrikes on southern Beirut.

Lebanese Health Ministry officially announced that 634 people were killed, and 1586 others were wounded due to the Israeli airstrikes since March 2.

On February 28, Israel and the United States launched a joint military operation against Iran. Tehran responded with missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and US military bases across the region, with explosions reported in several Gulf countries.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was confirmed dead in a strike on the first day. His son, Mojtaba Khamenei, was selected as his successor on Sunday.
