Protesters gather outside Congress in Buenos Aires on Thursday, February 19, as lawmakers discuss the labour reform bill proposed by President Javier Milei’s government.
The legislation would change key worker rights, including reducing severance pay, extending working hours, as well as limiting the right to strike and restricting collective bargaining.
Unions say the measures undermine workers’ rights, while the government argues they provide greater flexibility for employers.
Protests are planned by left-wing unions and grassroots groups near Congress, including state workers, metalworkers, airline pilots, and organisations linked to the CTA, Argentina’s main independent trade union confederation.
