President Cyril Ramaphosa welcomes G20 leaders as they arrive at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg on Friday, November 21.
Their arrival comes ahead of the G20 Leaders Summit, held under South Africa’s presidency on November 22-23.
Among those set to attend are Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and African Union Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf.
No US government official is expected after Donald Trump called for South Africa to be thrown out the G20 over alleged 'white farmer genocide', which the country strongly denied.
This marks the start of two days of meetings focused on South Africa’s chosen theme 'Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability'.
