US President Donald Trump meets Chinese leader Xi Jinping at Busan airbase on Thursday, October 30.
Trump and Xi have spoken via phone this year when the US leader took office for a second time, but are set to come face-to-face for the first time since 2019.
The sides have been locked in a trade war; most recently Trump threatened 100 percent tariffs on goods from November 1 after Beijing announced measures on rare earths.
At the weekend, the US suggested they had agreed a 'framework' and China a 'preliminary consensus' for a deal which would also include the long-running 'TikTok' sale.
