Live from New York City on Wednesday, October 29, as the UN General Assembly votes on a resolution submitted by Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla calling for an end to the decades-long US embargo.
The draft resolution, titled 'Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba', urges DC to lift the measures in place since 1962.
This is the 34th consecutive year that Cuba has presented the resolution, which has historically received overwhelming international backing. In recent years, more than 180 countries have supported it, with only the United States and Israel voting against.
Havana maintains that the embargo remains the main obstacle to its economic and social development.
