Live from Tehran, as the state funeral and commemoration ceremony for Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists killed during the '12-day war' with Israel takes place on Saturday, June 28.
At least 610 people were killed and more than 4,700 injured in the war, according to Iran’s Ministry of Health. Hossein Salami, a senior commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was killed on the first day.
The conflict began on June 13, when Israel launched large-scale attacks targeting nuclear facilities, key scientists, and government leadership. Iran responded with waves of strikes, Donald Trump intervened with hits on Iranian sites at the weekend, and Tehran then targeted a US air base in Qatar - before a ceasefire was announced on Tuesday.
