The aftermath of a huge blast at a gas station in the capital of Russia’s Chechnya was captured on video on Saturday.
Footage shows burned vehicles and damaged metal structures at the scene, as well as features emergency teams fighting the remaining fire outbreaks.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM) reported a 'fuel storage tank explosion followed by fire' at the gas station. 35 officers and seven special vehicles were deployed to battle the flames.
The authorities later added that the blaze was extinguished, engulfing an area of 900 square metres. Four people were reported killed including two children.
Chechnya’s Investigative Committee opened a criminal case into breaches of safety guidelines. The republic's leader Ramzan Kadyrov and сhief prosecutor Arsan Adayev will personally oversee the investigation.
