Description

A fire at an oil depot in a terminal in Feodosia, Crimea, was captured on video on Monday night.

The footage shows plumes of smoke rising above buildings engulfed in flames.

The city has declared a state of emergency, as the mayor of the city, Igor Tkachenko, announced earlier via his Telegram channel.

No casualties or injuries had been reported at the time of publication and the cause of the fire had yet to be determined.

There has been no statement from the authorities on the cause of the blaze, with investigations believed to be ongoing.

According to the Republic's First Deputy Minister for Fuel and Energy, Vladimir Voronkin, Crimea is fully supplied with fuel.

"As of today, the fuel situation is stable. There are sufficient stocks for the population of the Republic of Crimea and for private entities involved in the transport and delivery of products. Fuel is being monitored on a daily basis," Voronkin added.

An aide to the Crimean leader, Oleg Kryuchkov, reported that two temporary accommodation centres had been set up in Feodosia for residents evacuated from the districts closest to the oil depot.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor's interregional department for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, Natalia Penkovskaya, said that studies did not show excessive amounts of pollutants in the air as a result of the fire at the oil depot.

The Republican Transport Ministry said that a by-pass route had been introduced for areas close to the scene.
