Firefighters successfully contained a significant blaze at a furniture factory in Barnaul, a city in southern Siberia, with the fire affecting an area of approximately 6,800 square metres. The Russian Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM) provided updates on the situation on Sunday.
Footage from the scene shows the multi-storey industrial building engulfed in flames, producing large plumes of black smoke. Emergency response vehicles from EMERCOM were seen arriving at the site to assist in firefighting efforts.
To manage the extensive fire, a total of 68 firefighters and 20 vehicles, including a specialised fire train, were deployed. The response team strategically divided the site into three sectors to enhance their firefighting capabilities and speed up the response process.
