Vice President (VP) and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris published a video on Tuesday of her calling Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to ask him to be her VP running mate for the November election
"Listen, I want you to do this with me. Let's, let's do this together. Would you be my running mate? And let's get this thing on the road?" she is seen asking.
"I would be honoured, Madam Vice President," he replied. "The joy that you are bringing back to the country, the enthusiasm that's out there, It'll be a privilege to take this with you across the country."
Walz was elected governor in 2018 and again just two years ago.
It follows a similar 'phone call' video released by the Harris campaign of her endorsement from Barack and Michelle Obama last month.
On Monday, Harris officially became the nominee, after incumbent Joe Biden stepped away from the race in July. It followed ongoing concerns from the media, opponents and even supporters about his health, after a series of high profile gaffes and a much-criticised debate with Republican nominee Donald Trump.
