The Sudanese army was seen in Khartoum Bahri following intense battles against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), in footage filmed on Saturday, September 28.
Army personnel are shown in the Kadour and Halfaya areas, with Bahri located north of the capital Khartoum.
The Sudanese army launched a large-scale offensive last Thursday against RSF-controlled areas in the cities of Khartoum, Khartoum Bahri and Omdurman, the main cities in Khartoum state.
The army said its forces had crossed the Halfaya Bridge, which connects North Omdurman, where the army's main military base is located, and North Khartoum Bahri, where the RSF are stationed.
The government forces announced that they had recaptured the Kedro area. Meanwhile, RSF said on Sunday that they 'inflicted a crushing defeat' on the army after its forces "tried in vain to penetrate through the Jili Refinery axis north of the capital Khartoum".
In a statement published on the X platform, the RSF alleged that the army was putting out “fake narratives about victories that only exist in their miserable fantasies".
Fighting between the Sudanese army and the RSF erupted in April 2023, with the UN reporting that up to 15,000 people have been killed. More than eight million people have been forced to flee their homes.
