Russian President Vladimir Putin meets with Alexander Trufanov, his mother and fiancee in Moscow on Wednesday, April 16, following the former hostage's release from Hamas captivity
The meeting also includes Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar alongside Alexander Boroda, President of the Federation of Jewish Communities of the Russian Federation.
Trufanov was released from captivity on February 16, 2025, as part of the sixth hostage-prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas under the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
The ceasefire, which was initiated on January 19, ended on March 18, when the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) resumed operations in Gaza.
