    Wolf Moon illuminates Kish Island

    Wolf Moon illuminates Kish Island

The 'Wolf Moon', the first full moon of 2025, shines over Kish off the southern coast of Iran on Monday, January 13, as seen from atop the city's Golden Towers.

The peak viewing time is at 17:54 GMT when the Wolf Moon will appear at its fullest and brightest.

It reportedly gets its name from the howling of wolves heard in Native American villages during the wintertime.

The Wolf Moon will appear for three days, from Sunday to Wednesday morning, while the next full moon, known as the 'Snow Moon', will be visible on February 12.

Kish Island, known for its resorts and free trade zone status, is popular with tourists and shoppers alike.
