The 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) kicks off in Baku on Monday, November 11.
Around 50,000 government officials, policymakers, investors, and stakeholders gather to address climate targets, financing, and strategies to maintain the 1.5°C global temperature goal.
Setting a new climate finance objective is high on the agenda, as well as encouraging nations to readdress their commitments to carbon neutrality. Leaders will also focus on financing for developing countries to facilitate the transition towards low-emission, resilient economies.
The conference will run until November 22.
