Palestinians gathering for Eid al-Adha prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem On Sunday morning, June 16. The mosque, the third holiest site in Islam, is expected to be under tight security from Israeli forces.
Eid al-Adha celebrations, lasting two to four days, involve family gatherings, new attire, and gift exchanges between the loved ones.
Last week, tensions rose when the mosque was stormed by Israelis during the 57th anniversary of Jerusalem Day, marking the 1967 capture of East Jerusalem.
