NASA's SpaceX Crew-12 mission splashes down off the coast of California on Thursday, October 8, completing a nearly eight-month mission aboard the International Space Station.
Crew-12 includes NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, European Space Agency astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev. The four return to Earth aboard SpaceX's Crew Dragon capsule Freedom after launching to the ISS in February.
During their mission, the crew contributed to hundreds of experiments and scientific investigations aimed at supporting future human exploration and research on Earth.
Recovery teams are set to retrieve the Dragon spacecraft and crew from the Pacific Ocean following splashdown.
