
The Sambo competitions of the VI World Nomad Games takes in Cholpon Ata on Thursday, September 3. Sambo is a Russian (Soviet) martial art and combat sport, as well as a comprehensive self-defense system. The traditions of Sambo are rooted in the cultures of the peoples of Russia and their traditional wrestling styles. Among the participating countries are Mongolia, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Cameroon, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and others. The World Nomad Games is an international platform that brings together different cultures, traditions, values and sporting disciplines. They were first held in 2014. The iconic, international cultural and sports event dedicated to nomadic peoples is held from August 31 to September 6.
