Russian President Vladimir Putin arrives in Kyrgyzstan on a state visit on Monday, August 31.

He will take part in the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation (SCO) summit, which is being held in Bishkek from August 31 to September 1.

It brings together leaders of SCO member states, including Russia, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Belarus, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, to discuss regional security, economic co-operation and further development of the organisation.

SCO leaders are also invited to the opening of the World Nomad Games, taking place at the same time.
