Nepal police say the death toll has now risen to 475, with around 1,500 missing on both sides. Concerns about the 'barrier lake' which formed following Wednesday's landslide temporarily suspended rescue efforts - amid fears of a secondary breach.
Entire villages have been swept away, with homes, roads, bridges and other infrastructure destroyed or buried under mud and debris. Scientists have suggested a collapsed glacier triggered the huge deluge.
