NASA astronaut Jessica Meir and European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Sophie Adenot conduct a spacewalk outside the International Space Station (ISS) on Tuesday, August 25.
During US Spacewalk 98, the pair will connect power channel cables, update data relay systems and replace a navigational aid used for spacecraft docking on the Harmony module's forward port. The work is part of ongoing maintenance and preparations for the space station's future deorbit.
The spacewalk will be the 283rd conducted in support of the assembly, maintenance, and upgrade of the ISS, and is expected to last approximately six and a half hours.
