NASA astronaut Anil Menon and European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Sophie Adenot conduct a spacewalk outside the International Space Station (ISS) on Tuesday, August 18.

During US Spacewalk 97, the pair will exit the Quest airlock to replace a Space-to-Ground antenna, a critical communications system that enables high-speed data transmission between Mission Control in Houston and the orbiting laboratory.

Adenot will become the first French woman to perform a spacewalk. The extravehicular activity (EVA) is expected to last approximately six and a half hours.
