Demonstrators take to the streets in Ceuta on Sunday, August 2, following the recent migrant influx that sparked tensions across the city.

The situation in Ceuta has largely stabilised following an unprecedented migration surge that saw an estimated 60,000 migrants cross from Morocco into the Spanish enclave. Most have since returned to Morocco.

In response to Friday's mass crossing, Spanish authorities have reinforced security by deploying military personnel and installing a 500-metre temporary inflatable containment barrier along the maritime border between Ceuta and Morocco, as part of efforts to prevent further irregular crossings.
