
Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono, Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah and other ASEAN leaders and senior representatives take part in the Russia–ASEAN Summit in Kazan on Thursday, June 18.
The summit is being held to mark the 35th anniversary of dialogue relations between Russia and ASEAN. The Philippines currently holds the rotating ASEAN chairmanship.
The agenda is expected to focus on the current state and future development of the Russia–ASEAN strategic partnership, as well as regional and international issues. Participants are expected to adopt the Kazan Declaration and joint statements on co-operation in areas including energy and culture.
Representatives of ASEAN member states from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Timor-Leste are expected to take part in the summit.
