A multi-camera broadcast features thousands of Muslims gathering to pray outside the Moscow Cathedral Mosque on Wednesday, May 27, marking Eid al-Adha.
Eid al-Adha, also known as the 'Feast of the Sacrifice', is also celebrated during the annual Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca.
It is the second and largest of Islam's two main holidays, following Eid al-Fitr, and commemorates the willingness of the Prophet Ibraham to sacrifice his son to show his obedience to God - before being given a ram in his place.
