Live outside a Buenos Aires courthouse on Tuesday, April 14, as a second trial gets underway for seven healthcare professionals accused of negligence in the death of football legend Diego Maradona.
The initial trial was declared null and void in May 2025 due to judicial misconduct. The new proceedings will again examine the medical care Maradona received in the days leading up to his death, following findings that his treatment may have been inadequate.
More than 100 witnesses, including family members and doctors, are expected to testify. Maradona died of a heart attack on November 25, 2020, aged 60, while recovering from brain surgery.
