Live from Paris, supporters of Les Patriotes leader Florian Philippot demonstrate against police raids on the French offices of social media platform X, citing concerns over freedom of expression, on Sunday, February 15.
The protest follows searches carried out by French police and Europol under a judicial investigation opened in January 2025 into alleged illegal content on the platform, including child sexual abuse material, sexual deepfakes and suspected misuse of data involving X's AI chatbot, Grok.
The Paris prosecutor's cybercrime unit said the raids are part of a wider investigation into suspected platform-related offences, while X called the operation 'politically motivated' and a 'political attack.'
Florian Philippot, a former ally of Marine Le Pen, also criticised the raids, saying they reflect a broader crackdown on free speech.
