The 62nd Munich Security Conference (MSC) opens on Friday, February 13, at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof and the Rosewood Munich.

More than 50 heads of state and government have confirmed their participation in the three-day conference, including European Union leaders and a large delegation from the German Federal Government, led by Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

2025 saw a blistering attack on censorship and the state of free speech in Europe by US VP JD Vance. The US delegation this time is heading by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Key topics on the agenda include European security and defence, the future of transatlantic relations, multilateralism, competing visions of the global order, regional conflicts and the security implications of emerging technologies.
