Unrest has been seen across the country since December, related to the economic situation - but has intensified in recent weeks following Donald Trump's warnings against any potential crackdown.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei claimed some rioters were destroying property just to 'please' Trump while Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Monday that the situation was under 'full control', adding that "Trump's statements regarding the protests constituted interference in our internal affairs".
The Tasnim news agency reported that 109 security personnel had been killed in the riots across the country.
