Live from Addis Ababa as the year’s final supermoon, the 'Cold Moon', rises over the capital on Friday, December 5 (GMT December 4).
Its name reflects the onset of winter in the northern hemisphere and it is also known as the ‘Snow Moon’.
This month’s full moon is the last supermoon of 2025, appearing larger and brighter than usual as it reaches the closest point to Earth. At this distance it can appear up to 14 percent larger and around 30 percent brighter than a typical full moon.
