US President Donald Trump meets with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban at the White House in Washington on Friday, November 7.
Orban has previously pushed for an exemption from Trump's latest sanctions on Russian oil, arguing they were damaging his country's energy security, and is expected to reiterate his opposition once again.
Trump has described the Hungarian PM as a 'friend', with Orban scheduled to host the much-anticipated second bilateral with Vladimir Putin in Budapest until very recently. This marks the first bilateral meeting between the US president and Hungarian PM at the White House since Trump’s return to office in January 2025.
