Rodrigo Paz of the Christian Democratic Party is sworn in as Bolivia’s president during an official ceremony at the National Congress in La Paz on Saturday, November 8.
The inauguration marks the end of nearly two decades of government by the Movement for Socialism (MAS) and the start of a new conservative administration following Paz’s victory in the October 19 elections.
At least 45 international dignitaries are expected to attend, including Argentine President Javier Milei and Paraguayan President Santiago Pena. Former president Luis Arce declined to attend, saying his presence was not required 'for the handover of power to proceed'.
