The APEC Leaders Summit sees heads of state from the 21 member economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation forum gather in Gyeongju on Friday, October 31.

Under the theme 'Building a Sustainable Tomorrow', discussions focus on AI governance, demographic change and inclusive growth, with an emphasis on strengthening regional co-operation and promoting free and open trade.

The summit marks the first APEC for US President Donald Trump in his second term and is scheduled to include his much-anticipated head-to-head with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum is also expected to attend for the first time since taking office, alongside Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and other regional leaders.
